- Monologues from The Pale King for the PEN Center USA
Josh Radnor makes me want to punch a puppy, but Adam Scott compensates. This event was incredible regardless.
This is kind of odd as a project, because almost any time that Wallace would speak about his work being read aloud (this mostly regarded book readings, so his defenses may have just boiled down to not liking to do public reading, but) he was against it. Or at least not for it. When interviewed he said that the material was intended for situations involving little-to-no sensory distraction. Ruminations to thaw the ice of the day. Also he he would frequently protest that his work would not make for good or realistic oration because “there’s not enough punctuation.”
As an afterthought: HENRY ROLLINS?
