Come see Jim and meet everyone who works at Panera an celebrate Brian’s birthday with us. GO TO THE SHOWWWW also happy derpday brian! Not that any of it was planned for this, but I want to thank everybody who was around last night for what turned out to be my single favorite day on this planet so far. I have been more or less miserable for every birthday that I can recall, except this most recent one. A great number of the folks involved with why yesterday was so great won’t even get to see this, but after an early, busy day at work and a number of hours spent having long-distance drinks with friends (Hi Sarah!) and family (Hi Dad!) I got to see almost all of the really wonderful people that I can now say are part of my life. The whole thing left me floating. Warm and luminescent. There is more to this. And some time later, when I need it, I am going to look back at this isolated handful of hours and realize that I am still standing in their wake. I am looking forward to that.
